A carpet sample
These are Czech 10s, about a half-inch square. Think a 6×6″ square will look like a pile carpet? I’m using the darker thread to add a little depth of color. I haven’t had much beading time lately, trying to finish up on outside projects. Hopefully, this will be the last week.
New Beadin’ Path challenge
The last one was the beaded mask — this year is The Ugly Bug Ball. Bead something based on the Burl Ives song of the same name, recorded for the 1964 Disney film “Summer Magic.” Bead a bug! Here’s Fred, for inspiration.
A disembodied head
More accurately, a head waiting for a body! Neck to the tip of the ears is 28mm. The head is rounder on top than I’d like, but I think this small scale is making it harder to get what I envision.
Face as ring?
I’ve stalled long enough, it’s time to try to work on this figure again. As I had decided earlier, educated by false starts, I decided to begin completing this head by connecting the white rim (clothing) around the face from side to side, at the widest part of the head. From there, decrease down to…
The inside…
Does this help, LB? Peyote and tension. No fluid drape of beads, that’s for certain! The face without the white frame of beads is 18mm tall.
