Beading For a Cure 2013 beads


The auctions are still going for the Beading For a Cure “blue kit,” the beads we worked with last year. The last set of auctions will be listed April 28. Go take a look! There’s some really spectacular beadwork this week.

At about the same the auctions are going, participants receive the next kit of beads. Here they are:

The large tubes are 11s, the small tubes are, from left to right, 11s, 8s, peanuts, and 15s. The accent beads are 2 strands of Czech glass, teardrops, 2 sizes of bicones, and twisted bugles. Beki of Whimbeads is this year’s kit supplier — we buy these sight unseen. She told us later that she was inspired by a Moroccan carpet, I think. I can see that – or Southwest – or 1950s! I might have an idea, but other beading must occur first…
