Machine and hand-stitched art quilt

In the Spring of 2010, I connected with a distant cousin who lent me a book on our family history, titled “Melange.” Reading “Melange” led to the creation of “Descent of the Ancestors in which several collaged fabrics were cut and reassembled to mimic how I perceive my life to be made up of those who came before as well as my own individual experiences.
