The magic of wet finishing
The top of the picture and the bottom of the picture are (I believe) the exact same number of rows in this cotton and rayon scarf. The bottom one has been wet finished – and not very gently handled. See how it becomes more of a cohesive fabric? This is my ninth warp, pictured earlier in full. I washed one scarf roughly by hand in cool water with Woolite, and have not yet washed the other. The width shrunk from 6 1/2″ to 6″, and the length shrunk from about 65″ to 62.” Quite a difference in appearance.
