Herringbonekette, step 2
While on my summer trip, I worked on a couple of projects. This is all the further I got on this project! It’s so much easier to keep working on a project than to go back to it after a break. Especially when the instructions are in German, and I’m trying to figure it out…
Herringbone rope
I really like herringbone. This goes quickly — I do essentially two stitches at once, so four beads per stitch. I like adding larger beads within the rope, but these hex beads have huge holes, and these seeds can fit inside them. This makes it a little awkward, but it still works!
Ceramic bead necklace
Originally, I was thinking of hanging the bead vertical, with perhaps black teardrop beads hanging beneath the ceramic bead, capped by the bead cap. After looking at the proportions, I liked it more with the bead horizontal. Also, the pink/red beads appear to be more of an accent this way, rather than dominating the design.…
Ceramic bead hats
I’m hoping the final necklace looks better than these “hats!” I was thinking of those bead balls when I made this; trying to make half a bead ball. That obviously didn’t work. With this one, I was hoping to get it to lay more flush to the ceramic bead, but instead I get this floppy…
