  • 9/11 Bead Quilts are home!

    Andrea Adams blogged earlier in the week that the Bead Quilts have been safely delivered to their museum home! It will reside at the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, being constructed at the World Trade Center site in New York City. It was an honor to be a small part of the Bead Quilt’s journey.

  • Arizona Bead Museum closing

    Yesterday, the Bead Museum in Glendale, Arizona announced that they are no longer able to sustain operation. They are searching for a permanent home for their collections, and marking down the items in their store.   • Beaded icons at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church

    Maria Rypan has arranged for a show and sale of beaded icons at St. Demetrius the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church in Toronto. The icons were beaded by Oksana Ivanochko of Lviv, Ukraine and will be at the church on Sunday, February 6th from 9am to 2pm.

  • Herringbone spiral complete

    I really like this bracelet. The basis for the idea is Laura McCabe’s herringbone spiral from her Embellished Beadweaving book. I put three of her spirals together, sharing the outermost two beads. I also made it so it looks like tweed, changing the direction of the spirals. Its weight is substantial and satisfying.
