New book on historic Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) beaded bags
Gerry Biron is an artist and an researcher of historic Northeast Woodland beadwork. He lectures frequently on the topic, and has an excellent blog, Iroquois and Wabanaki Beadwork. Gerry’s most recent post is about his new book, A Cherished Curiosity: The Souvenir Beaded Bag in Historic Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Art. It’s 184 pages, of which he’s excerpted several in his most recent blog post. Beautiful photography – if this is a topic of interest, this looks to be a wonderful book.

Thanks for pointing his blog out to me sometime in the past. This type of beadwork has long been a secret passion and I love seeing it & reading about it historically. Now, I’m going to have the book for my library.
It looks to be a great book! I know his blog has been really informative, and generous. Let me know if you get it…
