Laughing at myself
I had this design idea of layered, interlocking diamonds, and came up with this:
About halfway through, I realized that this sample, where I went around each element twice, adding the corner turquoise beads on the second pass to create the diamond, was simply a wholly unnecessary way to do what visually looks like netting. As a “bonus,” it is stiff with no drape. Time to get out the scissors! I love these brown beads; they are a lovely Italian bead, a semi-transparent brown ab. I need to make something fabulous out of these beads sometime — not this!

It does look like netting, but don’t cut it apart! It’s beautiful!
Thanks! Maybe I’ll let it hang around in my “miscellaneous sample” pile. Until I need the beads…
