It covers Prehistory (early hominids) until the end of the Islamic Period (1400 AD), and explores why beads can help us understand human culture.  Major events in history are explored from the perspective of beads.

  • Shiny is my favorite color, part one

    I took pictures of this show, just ended at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.  Nine area artists showed their interpretations of “shiny” in a mixed-media exhibit.  The exhibit features more than 70 works ranging from metal and glass (beads!), to art books and textiles.  I will be covering this in two parts…
